Tour 2010

Following the start into the tour with FIREBIRDS in Chile (January) and Costa Rica (March), Theater Titanick is now touring Europe.

The performance of ODYSSEY at the festival Kontrapunkt in Szczecin (PL) on 24tz April marked the beginning of the European tour. It will be shown again twice in July: during the summer festival of Siegen (9th July) and at the Kultursommer in Oldenburg (17th July).

In the beginning of June, Theater Titanick celebrated its 20th anniversary at the Aasee lake in Münster (see below for more details) with the classic TITANIC. This production about the sinking of the Titanic will be part of the programme of the Lakes Alive festival in Carlisle (GB) on 23rd and 24th July.

FINAL DESTINATION: WATER was the name of the production that Theater Titanick developed especially for the Extraschicht 2010 in Gelsenkirchen (D). On 19th July this production was shown four times, turning the Rhein-Herne canal into a stage with impressive images.
A handful of uprooted people hopelessly drift on islands of wreckage through the world of the water gods - full of nymphs and fountains on the one hand, and archaic power and destruction on the other. In contrast, we see the world of a "party society" gloating over the flood victims, who hang on to the leftovers of their existence. They are torn between hope and fear, threat and rescue - a fellini-like dance on the edge of the whirlpool.
 

At the end of June, EELECTRIFIED was presented in Lisboa (PT) for the Portuguese Electrical Company (EDP). The setting was the Electricity museum on the banks of the Tajo River. Another three perfomances of ELECTRIFIED followed in MIrandela in the North of Portugal.

After their overwhelming success in South and Central America, the FIREBIRDS will come into action again on European ground: on 13th July the daredevil pilots will compete in Chester le Street (GB) as part of the Durham Brass Festival.

In August, the steel works in Georgsmarienhütte (D) will celebrate their 250th anniversary; Theater Titanick will show a choreography of sound and fire for this occasion, the HOCHOFENSINFONIE (FURNACE SYMPHONY).

Finally, Theater Titanick will celebrate its 20thanniversary in Leipzig at the open day at the Old Trade Fair on 24th September with a show of the HOCHOFENSINFONIE (FURNACE SYMPHONY).
